Showcase your stores’ product range online

How is Italian retail evolving after the pandemic? Largo Consumo and Ipsos asked themselves this question in a study that offers a look at the current Italian retail landscape through the eyes of customers.

Loyal consumers are becoming fewer and fewer: in 2022, 41% of respondents actually switched the store where they usually shopped, a percentage that stood at just 32% only a year earlier.

One of the factors most responsible for this growing dissatisfaction is in-store product assortment. A lack of product availability, combined with limited variety, can lead a customer to turn to another retailer. It’s no coincidence that while other functional aspects of in-store marketing have returned to 2020 levels, assortment is the only one that keeps getting worse across almost every category.

Offering consumers a complete, up-to-date assortment, in which everyone can find the product they want, therefore becomes a key factor in standing out from competitors, increasing customer loyalty, and attracting new customers.

In an increasingly omnichannel and phygital world, however, this is not enough. According to Think with Google, around 80% of consumers do online research before buying. So it’s not enough to optimize the assortment: it’s essential to already show the products available in store online.

The RetailTune platform allows retailers and wholesalers to give potential customers all the information about the store and its assortment thanks to a number of digital tools:

  • Store Catalog: a section within the store page dedicated to the catalog of all products available in store
  • Product Finder: users can check the availability of a specific product at the nearest store, reserve it in store if available, or, if not, ask to be notified when it’s back in stock
  • Feed Manager: the catalog of products in store, updated in real time, can also be uploaded to Google Business Profile listings

RetailTune therefore not only allows companies to manage store information, such as hours, address, and contacts, from a single dashboard, but also offers more sophisticated, customer-centric tools to help people get to the right place at the right time based on the products they’re looking for.
